CareBreak

Sometimes, all it takes is a break.
A moment to breathe, recharge, do something enjoyable, or simply not be responsible for a while.

CareBreak aims to make these pauses possible -

for those supporting a loved one with specific needs.

What it’s about

Präsenz als Entlastung

CareBreak is a HALTO initiative that brings a bit of respite to everyday life. Volunteers give their time—they are present, offer companionship, play, read, and provide support—allowing caregivers to take a moment to breathe.

However, volunteers do not provide medical care: they offer presence, attention, and human warmth. The focus is on trust, shared responsibility, and mutual support.

Coming Soon:

Raum zum Entspannen

HALTO is currently in the setup phase.

This means we are preparing everything so that the first CareBreak support sessions can take place—safely, responsibly, and transparently.

During this period, we are:

  • Bringing together interested volunteers who wish to get involved,

  • Connecting with families seeking a moment of respite,

  • Developing the organizational foundations (contracts, procedures, training, guidance).

We are also in contact with partners in Luxembourg, such as the Volunteer Agency , to collaboratively establish effective ways to support and accompany families.
