How you can get involved
If you can imagine
– offering your time as a volunteer,
– or, as a family or caregiver, taking a moment of respite yourself,
you can already register your interest with us.
Simply send us a short email at
info@halto.lu – we will get in touch as soon as the first CareBreak supports begin.
All interested participants will then receive further information, forms and documents for participation.
Important:
Volunteers should be at least 18 years old. We especially welcome people with heart, calmness and life experience, who enjoy supporting others and becoming part of a growing community.
What CareBreak is not
CareBreak does not replace professional care, home care services or medical support. We are not an emergency or on-demand service, but are building a network of trust – slowly and intentionally.
Support takes place during the day or in the evening – until midnight at the latest – and always by mutual agreement.
Everything is based on voluntariness, respect and trust. Small compensations (e.g. for travel costs) can be arranged individually.
Outlook
CareBreak is a beginning. As the first volunteers and families connect, a network grows step by step – offering support when support is needed.
Volunteers should be at least 18 years old – including people later in life who wish to share their time and experience. They play an important role in making intergenerational connection a natural part of everyday life again.
With CareBreak, HALTO aims to show that every generation has something to contribute. That relief does not only come from institutions, but also from community – from people being there for one another.
It takes a village to raise a child – and a community to carry life together.
CareBreak stands for exactly this sense of togetherness: mutual support, lived solidarity, and the awareness that we are stronger together.
CareBreak stands for humanity and connection. Because sometimes, relief is also a form of closeness – and a reminder that no one is alone.
